Rana el Kaliouby has spent the last decade studying this phenomenon as apioneer in the new field of Artificial Emotional Intelligence (Emotion AI). She believes that we need to humanize technology before it dehumanizes us. She founded her company, Affectiva, to
develop technology that understand humans the way we understan one another.
A rarity in the tech world, el Kaliouby is a Muslim woman in charge.
